ABOUT MUNITIONS
MUNITIONS is the pop/electronic project of Atlanta native, (and now, Nashvillian), Eryn McHugh. After moving to Nashville following the dissolution of a ten-year relationship, McHugh was searching for an outlet to explore the complex emotions that she was wrestling with. Having grown up with a strong connection to music, she wanted to reconnect with that part of herself again. Love and loss were on her mind when she met Nashville-based producer chsr (Chase Coy) in 2019.
McHugh began co-writing and producing songs with chsr, pulling from musical influences both new and old, with the goal of releasing her first songs in 2020.
In the aftermath of a divorce, she began to grapple with sometimes-complex emotions, and tear back layers of trauma, processing grief and anger while still holding onto her sense of optimism for a better future. This careful balance is clearly reflected in her songs, which she hopes will offer listeners hope even while exploring the depths of the human condition.
Music can be the most direct healer for the artist who creates it, as much the people it touches; McHugh knows this. She maintains a sense of emotional honesty, and offers an intimacy to the listener with her airy, whispering vocals and transparent lyrics.
The first three singles from MUNITIONS are coming in 2020 (starting with “Don’t Come Back,” May 8th), so please stay tuned.
